Copies of the documents are also located in the Title I binder in the front office or on our school website. The Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), requires that a Local Educational Agency prepare and disseminate an annual Local Educational Agency report card and provide information on state, local, and school performance and progress in an understandable and uniform format. District and School grades provide an easily understandable way to measure the performance of a school. Parents and the public can use the grades and their components to understand how well each district and/or school is serving its students. Discovery Elementary recognizes National Red Ribbon Week October 21st-25th. *Red Ribbon week was developed in 1988 to honor the memory of Enrique Camarena. The week serves to promote an awareness of the dangers of alcohol and other drugs. *Monday , October 21st "Rally in Red Against Drugs" (wear a red shirt) *Tuesday, October 23rd "Hats off to Being Drug free" (Wear your favorite hat) *Wednesday, October 23rd “Team Up Against Drugs” (Wear your favorite sports team shirt or jersey.) *Thursday, October 24th: “Pair Up Against Drugs” (Twin Day: You and a friend dress alike.) *Friday, October 25th “Scare Away Drugs”(Wear a costume. Costumes must be school appropriate. No face coverings.)

Elementary Family Reading and Math Nights At these events, families will be exposed to the Florida B.E.S.T. Standards for Reading and Math, get ideas of how to help your child(ren) at home, and engage in hands on Reading and Math activities. We encourage families to attend one of these nights.

Winn-Dixie Family Math Night Tuesday, November 12th , 2024 @ 5:00 – 7:00pm Please join us for Discovery’s Family Night Math at Winn-Dixie on Malabar Road in Palm Bay. All students will receive a grade level aligned activity sheet to complete. Students MUST be accompanied by a parent/guardian. There will also be: • Animal Balloon Maker • Raffles for Gift Cards • Prize Bags • Samples of Food Items
