SAC
SAC Purpose:
The School Advisory Council (SAC) assists the Principal in the preparation and evaluation of the School Improvement Plan (SIP) and the annual budget. The Advisory Council plays a key role in deciding on how to allocate school funds in order to best support and progress the SIP. The SIP is intended to be the primary artifact used by every school with stakeholders to review data, set goals, create an action plan and monitor progress. The Florida Department of Education encourages schools to use the SIP as a “living document” by continually updating, refining and using the plan to guide their work throughout the year.
You can view Andrew Jackson Middle School's SIP for SY 2024-2025 here: School Improvement Plan
SAC Composition:
The School Advisory Council is comprised of the Principal and Administrators, parents, teachers, educational support staff, students, business partners and community members. A majority of the members must be non-school employees and the members must be representative of the community.
Do you want to learn more about your student's opportunities at AJMS, gain knowledge about school improvements and programs, and build closer relationships with AJMS administrators, staff, teachers, and students? Do you wish to have a say in how funds are allocated to help AJMS programs function optimally? If so, we encourage you to attend a SAC meeting! Our SAC would love to have a wide representation of parents and community members involved.
If you're unable to commit to attending a meeting every month, you're more than welcome to attend occasionally and serve as an "alternate". SAC is an excellent way to stay "in-the-know" on the news and happenings at AJMS!
SAC Meeting Schedule for SY 2024-2025:
