This Spring, our school received an opportunity to participate in an artist residency project thanks to a grant from Brevard Cultural alliance in partnership with Brevard Schools Foundation. This project has been sponsored by the State of Florida through the Division of Arts and Culture, the National Endowment for the Arts and generous local funding from the Community Foundation for Brevard and "State of the Arts" license plate revenue.
Representing Brevard Cultural Alliance today is Education Manager, Julie Albright. Mrs. Albright is responsible for the implementation of the Next Generation Artist Residencies program. These artist residencies have served our school district since 1987.
Our artist Liam Hanney has taught percussion locally for the past 3 years at Wickham Road Music and Groove Shack. He obtained his AA degree in 2023 and is currently pursuing a minor in music and a major in Psychology at the University of Central Florida.
Our students in grades 3-6 who have selected to participate in the drum class this semester are enjoying working with Mrs. Bennett, our Music Teacher, and Mr. Hanney.
