After working eight years in the accounting & finance world in New York, Genesis Rowe moved to Georgia, made a career change and began her teaching career as a second-grade teacher at Burdell-Hunt Magnet School in Macon, Georgia in 2008. At Burdell-Hunt, Mrs. Rowe was named the 2009-2010 Teacher of the Year. In 2013 she moved to Houston County, where she taught first and second grade gifted class at C.B. Watson Primary. After only two years at C.B. Watson, Mrs. Rowe was named Teacher of the Year for a second time in her teaching career. After the passing of her beloved grandmother in 2015, Mrs. Rowe and her family decided to move to Orlando, FL where she taught second and third grade at Waterford Elementary for three years. At Waterford, she was given the OCPS Teacher Hero Award. In 2018, she transferred to Timber Lakes Elementary where she became a departmentalized math & science teacher for third and fourth grade students.
Mrs. Rowe holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting from Rider University, a Master of Education in Early Childhood from Wesleyan College, a gifted endorsement from GA RESA, and a Master of Administration from Concordia University. Mrs. Rowe has been a part of the McNair family since July 2020 and has loved every single moment of it. She started at McNair during the 2020-2021 SY as an AP of Discipline and became the AP of Curriculum for the 2023-2024 SY. McNair is “a home away from home” for Mrs. Rowe!
Although Mrs. Rowe is a native New Yorker, she resides in Orlando and feels that Florida is her real home. When not at school, she enjoys spending time with her husband Carlton, and their 2 precious sons, David and Daniel. Mrs. Rowe loves working with children and in her spare time she enjoys running, traveling, praying, and spending time with friends and family.
