Dear Oak Park Families and Community Partners,

It is with great enthusiasm I write this letter of introduction to you as the new Principal of Oak Park Elementary. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve such a dedicated, hard-working staff. I feel very fortunate to join the Eagle team! I look forward to getting to know all of the families, meeting and learning the names of every student and introducing myself to community partners.

I have dedicated the last twenty-six years as a Brevard educator. The majority of my years have been spent in Title I schools, with the mission that every student has potential and is a learner. I have worked in many aspects of a school. My experience as a teacher was in both primary and intermediate grades. I spent several years as a Literacy Coach and as a Title I coordinator. I am excited for this opportunity and look forward to the work ahead.

On a personal note, I have been married to my husband, Paul, for twenty-four years. Paul and I have been blessed with two beautiful children. Sydney is eighteen years old and is a freshman at FSU. Our son, Luke, just turned sixteen and recently has started driving. Luke plays baseball for Viera Hawks and is on two travel ball teams. Luke's baseball schedule keeps us busy! Two summers ago, Luke's Little League team made it to the Junior World Series in Taylor, Michigan. Paul and I spent two weeks traveling around the country watching Luke play first base. His Southeast team made it to the United States final game but lost to California. California ended up winning in the championship game to Puerto Rico. It was an exciting summer that we will always have fun talking about. It was the first time in twenty-six years I missed the first day of school. I am so glad I did because I have memories for a life time.

I look forward to serving the Oak Park students and community. My goal is to build strong relationships and continue my mission of finding a way to show that every student has POTENTIAL and is a LEARNER!

Sincerely,

Adrea McDonough, Principal

Mrs. Wehrly is thrilled to join the Oak Park team! She has been an Assistant Principal for four years in Brevard County and before that, served as a teacher for 8 years. As an educator, she thrives on building relationships with students and families and believes that every student is capable of greatness- we just have to provide students with the tools and skillsets to get there!

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching sporting events, and traveling to new places.

Mrs. Wehrly looks forward to being part of the Oak Park Community and getting to know each of you!
