Mrs. Brockwell was born in Columbus, Ohio. Her father, retired Air Force, received orders to arrive at Patrick Air Force Base and that is what brought Mrs. Brockwell to Florida when she was only 3 years old. She attended Fairglen Elementary, Challenger 7 Elementary, Andrew Jackson Middle School, and graduated from Cocoa Beach High School.
Mrs. Brockwell earned her B.S. degree in Elementary Education from the University of Central Florida and her Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from American College of Education in Chicago. She began her teaching career at Challenger 7 Elementary in Port Saint John. She taught 2nd and 5th grade and also taught at many schools in Brevard in the Super Science Saturday programs. Mrs. Brockwell became the lead teacher in 2010 and in 2011 and was appointed Assistant Principal at Challenger 7. Mrs. Brockwell accepted the position of Principal at Oak Park Elementary in July 2015 and had the honor of reopening South Lake and start her journey there in December 2017. She joined the construction crew in February 2018 and started hiring all of South Lake's employees. The teachers that reopened South Lake with Mrs. Brockwell started their journey on the first day of pre-planning in August 2018. It has been an amazing journey and she is looking forward to many more years!
She truly enjoys South Lake and looks forward to continuing FULL STEAM AHEAD! Go Sharks!!!
