SLAM Information
Sunshine State Young Reader Award SLAM Event (previously known as Book Bash)
Each year, Brevard County holds a SLAM Event that includes games and activities that correlate with the Florida SSYRA Books for the year. The SLAM event is held in the spring of the school year, usually at the end of April.
Each participant is encouraged to read all 15 of the Sunshine State Books included in the event before April.
Students who have book fines on their accounts due to lost/damaged books will not be able to check out books until the lost/damaged item has been returned, paid for, or replaced in kind.
Fines from lost/damaged books at other Brevard County schools need to be cleared as well. Payment or found books can be returned to the school they belong to, or to Mrs. Imka at Suntree Elementary and she will return the item to the appropriate location.
