Dear Audubon Families,

Here we are nearing the end of the school year - it seems like only yesterday I was writing a “Welcome to Audubon” letter. It’s amazing how quickly time passes. As I reflect on the past months, I am in awe of what we have accomplished together. Our theme for the school year was “Be the Wild Card”. As a staff we focused on every individual student and what it takes to make him/her successful. We focused on student engagement, persistence, awareness, authenticity, grit, and desire. These words became a part of our challenge to “Be the Wild Card” every day and make students want to come to school. We focused on student engagement to support all students both academically and behaviorally. We have worked hard and I’m happy to say it has been a very successful school year. But that hard work is truly reflected in our amazing students and the determination and grit they have displayed each day. The staff here at Audubon know that we could not have done it without our amazing families. Thank you to our hard-working families, and the support you have shown throughout this school year. It is this dedication and sense of community that is what truly makes Audubon Elementary a great place to learn. As a school family, we have supported our students to SOAR towards excellence together.

Please note, May 24th is the last day of school! For our 6th graders who will not be returning in the fall, I wish you much success in your future endeavors and I know you will do awesome in middle school. I am excited to hear the wonderful stories from the middle teachers about how amazing you all are. For the rest of our students, I hope you have a fun and relaxing summer - please take time to enjoy a good book and make some lasting memories with your families over the summer. We look forward to seeing you back in August!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Jones
