Computerized Credit Recovery

Cocoa Beach High School’s ACE (Alternative Computer Education) Lab is a computer-based credit recovery program that operates as an alternative to standard classroom instruction. The Lab is designed to help at-risk students finish high school and help them graduate on-time with a regular high school diploma. ACE Lab serves only students who would normally attend Cocoa Beach High School.

The ACE Lab program offers individualized, competency-based, computerized instruction in English, Math, Science and Social Studies. Students work at their own pace to master academic standards in each course, and receive one-on-one instruction from an experienced academic instructor. Academic plans are developed and course completion goals are set for each student. Student progress is closely monitored, and parent conferences are held every 9 weeks.

Students enrolled in both the ACE Lab and a marketing course may participate in the Marketing Department’s On-the-Job Training (OJT) Program, where students participate in employment skills training and earn high school credit for their time at work.
