PBIS FAQ's
Why is PBIS important?
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based / three-tiered framework to improve and integrate all of the data, systems, and practices affecting student outcomes every day. PBIS creates schools that support everyone for success. PBIS actively teaches students the behaviors that are expected of them, creates a positive school climate and culture, and provides rewards that students value which promote repeated positive behaviors.
What are Buddy Bucks and how can they be used?
Buddy Bucks are reward tickets given to students for demonstrating positive behavior. Buddy Bucks can be turned into teachers for classroom incentives such as treasure box, homework passes, or special events. Buddy Bucks are also used for school wide activities, such as Bobcat Bash, hosted several times per year.
Does every student and grade level participate?
Yes, PBIS is embedded in our culture. All students and staff at Longleaf Elementary participate.
