The Academy of FAME is a place to explore the imagination. FAME stands for Fine Arts & Multi-Media Entertainment and opened to upcoming 9th and 10th graders the Fall of 2009.
The Academy of FAME prepares Merritt Island High School students for a career in the field of Performing Arts, Visual Arts and/or Technical Arts:
*PERFORMING ARTS (theatre, dance, chorus, band, orchestra, communications, debate)
*VISUAL ARTS (drawing, painting, ceramics, photography, videography, drafting, stagecraft design, digital arts)
*TECHNICAL ARTS (tv production, journalism, music editing, movie directing, sound engineering, game designing, lighting programming, 3-D animating)
The Academy of FAME is committed to a high-quality education in the field of Fine Arts and Multi-Media Entertainment through academic, performance and technical coursework in preparation for the 21st century workforce and the post-secondary educational arena.

The Da Vinci Academy of Aerospace Technology is a four-year CHOICE academy - open to students from anywhere in Brevard County.
Students take five classes from the nationally-acclaimed Project-Lead-the-Way curriculum. All classes are taken in labs where instruction is technically-driven and project-based.
Freshman: Applied Engineering Technology I
Sophomore: Applied Engineering Technology II
Junior: Applied Engineering Technology III
Senior: Mentoring / Site Visits / Job Shadowing
The academy provides many site visit opporunities to local aerospace and other engineering companies where students interact with engineers in their fields of discipline (COVID restrictions vary). These include:

da Vinci also has relationships with major engineering universities, including Florida Tech, Embry-Riddle, UCF, and Eastern Florida.

Choice Information
The da Vinci Academy of Aerospace Technology is a CHOICE PROGRAM open to students not only zoned for MIHS, but from the surrounding area.
The approval of a student to attend a school other than his/her zoned school of attendance for the purpose of attending a choice school or program is valid for as long as the student participates in the choice school/program.
A student must return to his/her zoned school of attendance at the end of the semester if he/she no longer participates in the choice school or program.
