MILA's beginning orchestra meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:45-3 pm in the Music Room.  Intermediate orchestra will meet on Tuesday and Thursday from 2:40-3 pm.  The school will provide an instrument for your child at a rental fee of $25 a year.  This is to cover the cost of repairs and maintenance.  if your child has their own instrument, there will be no fee, but they will have to provide their own strings and be responsible for their own repairs.

Strings is a class that meets twice a week.  It is NOT a club.  There are sequential lessons that are taught and if your child misses an entire week, it will be difficult to keep up.  I understand there are doctor appointments and other things that come up, but if you and your child cannot commit to twice a week, then this might not be the year for strings.  Please discuss this with your child before you make that commitment.  

There will be a meeting on Thursday, September 6th at 5:30 in the Music Room for anyone that needs extra information about the program.  This will be a wonderful experience for your child that they can continue into middle and high school.  Our beginning orchestra class will start the week of September 10 at 2:45-3:30 pm, and our intermediate orchestra will start on Thursday, August 30th, from 2:45-3:30 pm.

Please discuss this wonderful opportunity with your child and if you decide that orchestra is a good fit for you and your child, please return the contract listed on this page no later than Friday, September 7th.  If you need more information, please attend our meeting in the Music Room from 5:30-6 pm on September 6th.  If you cannot attend the meeting, please do not hesitate to contact me.
