Safety Patrol

Safety Patrol students assist with the day-to-day operations of our school. Safety Patrol is open to well behaved student LEADers in 4th, 5th and 6th grades. Patrols assist with student arrival, student dismissal, breakfast, classroom set up and hallway safety. 

Girls In STEAM

Girls in STEAM is an extracurricular program that encourages academically high girls in 4th, 5th or 6th grades to consider careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts or Mathematics. GIS typically meets once a month after school.

Chorus

Chorus meets once a week on Friday afternoons. Chorus is open to students in grades 4th through 6th for the 1st semester. Students are preparing to participate in the Veterans Day Parade and several holiday community events. Third graders will be invited into Chorus during the 2nd semester.

Orchestra

Beginning Strings meets after school twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Beginning strings is open to students in 5th or 6th grades. Intermediate Strings meets after school twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays. Intermediate strings is open to 6th graders only.

Destination Moon

Destination Moon is a program designed to prepare students for a District-wide academic competition. Students are presented with missions, which they need to solve through research, teamwork. All missions are challenges meant to simulate living and working on the Moon.

Future Problem Solving

Future Problem Solving students learn to thoroughly research and analyze real world issues, then to apply a six-step creative problem-solving process to develop relevant action plans. Future Problem Solving is a competition academic competition.

Odyssey of the Mind

Odyssey of the Mind™ is a creative problem-solving competition that gives kids the confidence to think for themselves and to create solutions to any challenge. OM promotes creativity, problem solving and teamwork.

Art Club

Art Club is open to 3rd and 4th graders, and they meet on Wednesday afterschool.  Art Club for 5th and 6th graders meet on Friday after school.

Pirate News Network

PNN airs every morning in every classroom over our school’s closed-circuit television. Pirate News Network anchors share news about the weather, birthdays, upcoming school events. They lead our students in the Pledge of Allegiance and our Li’l Pirate Pledge.

Unified Special Olympics

Unified Sports joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team. PBE participates in softball skills and athletics (track), and athletes compete at the county, area and state levels.
