Title I

What is Title I?

Title I provides support through resources and research-based training, enabling schools to develop high quality, enriched programs that meet the individual needs of all children, families, and staff. Title I is a federally funded program designed to improve achievement at schools with a high percentage of students eligible for free and reduced priced lunches.  Brevard County Public Schools allocates Title I funds to qualifying schools based on direct certification data.

Through Title I funding PBE is able to provide:

o    Additional staff

o    Family check out materials

o    Technology and computer programs

o    Teacher and Parent Training Opportunities

School Improvement Plan

On October 22,2024, the Brevard County School Board approved Palm Bay Elementary School’s Schoolwide Improvement Plan (SIP) which also serves as our Title I plan. Please take a few minutes to review our school’s plan.  It is posted on our school website below.   Copies of this document will be made available upon request and if you would like the document translated, please contact our front office staff.

 Parent and Family Engagement Plan

 The Parent and Family Engagement Plan for Palm Bay Elementary has been reviewed and approved. The plan is available on this website and a hard copy is located in the front office in the Family Engagement Binder.  Copies and/or translations can be found in the Family Engagement Binder.  Parent’s Right to Know

 Each parent of a student at Palm Bay Elementary School has the right to request information about the professional qualifications of the student’s teacher(s) and any paraprofessionals who serve the student. Please contact the front office if you would like to review this information.

Complaint  Procedure

 If any LEA or School Plans (e.g. Title I LEA Plan, Title I LEA PIP, Title I School PIP or SIP) are not satisfactory to the parents of participating children, the school district will submit any parent comments with the Title I, Part A plan when the school district submits the plan to the State Department of Education. Parents must be informed of their rights to submit comments. Comments received at Title I schools MUST be forwarded to the Office of Title I and those comments will be included with submission of the LEA Title I Plan, as required.
