🌟 Surfside teachers had a fantastic first day back to school! 🌟 They were even greeted by our brand-new Panther mascot. 🐾 Our new furry friend is excited to meet all the Surfside students this fall and will need your help choosing a name! Stay tuned for more details on how you can be a part of this fun naming adventure. 🎉 Thank you to Bagel World for helping us feed our team today, and to our fabulous PTO families who stocked the break room with snack and drinks.

Today is the start of the 2024 Summer Olympics. Let's go Team USA! Students, we want to challenge you to watch the games and hear the stories of Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Determination, and Empathy. Write a short essay on which olympian you believe exudes our Surfside characteristics. Turn your essay to Mrs. Erenstoft and Mrs. Sicoli at Meet and Greet. We will choose a winner from each grade level to join us for an Olympic themed lunch.

NASA TechRise Challenge Congratulations to Mrs. Manchur, GPS Teacher, and several of her sixth grade students, Axel Bourgoin, Jack Fisher, Ian Lacombe, and Zachary Watzek. They are winners of NASA’s TechRise Student Challenge! By being selected as one of the 60 winning TechRise teams, NASA is supporting the development and demonstration of their payload, including a test flight on a rocket powered lander vehicle. These talented students will work with scientists, as well as their GSP teacher Mrs. Manchur, over the course of this semester to prepare their payload, set to launch this summer. The Surfside team competed against sixth through twelfth grade students across the United States and US territories. They are the only winners selected this year from Florida and the first group ever selected from Brevard Public Schools. We are proud of their accomplishment, inspired by their innovation, and cannot wait to see their design come to fruition!

Congratulations on your Retirement! Congratulations to our 2024 retirees! Pictured above from left to right are Annette Jankowski, Peggy Beltran, and Lisa Karcher. These ladies have been staples in our Surfside community for many years. Their service and dedication to our students and the community of Satellite Beach are unmatched. We will miss them greatly and wish them well on their next adventure.

We are so excited about the various new projects taking place on campus. Our kindergarten playground is almost complete. Once we have passed final inspection, we will open it up for our kindergarten students. We can't wait to see them play and have fun on this beautiful new playground!
