What is a Pre-Apprenticeship?

Brevard Adult & Community Education’s pre-apprenticeship programs are sponsored and operated by registered apprenticeship programs in the same trade or trades. These pre-apprenticeship programs will provide rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in the apprenticeship occupation career. The program will also include competency-based applied learning that contributes to the academic knowledge, higher order reasoning and problem-solving skills, work attitudes, general employability skills, technical skills, and occupation-specific skills, and knowledge of all aspects.

  • OSHA 10

  • CPR/First Aid

  • Certified Production Technician (CPT)

  • NCCER Core Certification

Who would benefit from NCCER Core Certification?

Core: Introduction to Basic Construction Skills prepares individuals for entry-level positions on project sites by providing the basics in safety, hand and power tools, construction math, materials handling, construction drawings, rigging and employability skills.

Who would benefit from CPT?

Individuals who are seeking to increase their competencies in manufacturing and help begin a career pathway in a high skills and in-demand industry.
