Psychological Services

The BPS Psychological Services Department is committed to promoting the educational success and mental health development of Brevard Public School’s students through collaboration with families and school personnel. We are dedicated to advocating on  behalf of all children and youth by implementing effective programs that improve outcomes for all students.

What is the Role of a School Psychologist?

School psychologists provide direct support and interventions to students, consult with teachers, families, and other school-employed mental health professionals (i.e., school counselors, school social workers) to improve support strategies, work with school administrators to improve school-wide practices and policies, and collaborate with community providers to coordinate needed services. (NASP,  2024).

The goal of our work each day is to:

·       Improve Academic Achievement
·       Promote Positive Behavior and Mental Health
·       Support Diverse Learners
·       Create Safe, Positive School Climates
·       Strengthen Family/School Partnerships
·       Improve School-Wide Assessment and Accountability

How Do I Contact a School Psychologist?

Each school has access to the services of a BPS School Psychologist, although our school psychologists serve more that one school and may not be at a particular school every day, parents can contact the school or our department office for information on the school psychologist serving their child’s school.
