School Closure Procedures
In the event of a weather emergency, the superintendent of Brevard Public Schools is the only person who will give the directive that schools are to close due to extreme weather conditions.
Should the district close, we will communicate the closure to parents, teachers, and staff through our website, social media, and FOCUS.
We encourage BPS families to continue to follow us on our Facebook (Brevard Schools Official)

General Shelter Information
Shelter openings are incident-specific.
Shelters are opened ahead of the predicted arrival of tropical storm-force winds.
An evacuation shelter is a lifeboat, not a cruise ship.
We recommend packing all essentials you will need during your time in the shelter. A list of items for your kit can be found on the Brevard Emergency Management website: here.
In the event of a storm, shelter openings will also be posted on this page.
