Dear Parents,

Here are just a few things that are going on in the music department. If your child likes to sing and learn more about being a better vocalist then we have a choral program at Christa McAuliffe Elementary. We meet every Monday from 2:30pm to 3:30pm. This is for students who are in 4th thru 6th grade.

If your child is interested in learning an instrument then we have our strings program. This is for students in grades 5th or 6th. They can learn to play the violin, viola, cello or bass. We meet every Tuesday and Friday in the music room. Beginning Strings (for those with no experience) meets from 2:30pm to 3:00pm. Intermediate strings (those with 1 year experience) meet from 3:00pm to 3:30pm. There is a fee of $50 which covers the cost of repairs and use of instrument.

Students who are in our younger grades, we have lots of fun activities in the general music class every week. We sing, play instruments and do many hands-on activities to enhance their learning experience.
