Advanced Placement is a program run by the College Board (the makers of the SAT) that allows students to take special high school courses that can earn college credit and/or qualify for more advanced classes when they begin college.

So what are AP courses? They are designed to give students the experience of an intro-level college class while they're still in high school. Plus, students can get college credit for AP classes if they pass the AP exam at the end of the year.

What IS Dual Enrollment?

Dual Enrollment allows students to take college courses while still enrolled in high school and earn credit for BOTH high school and college. 

For example, if a student takes and passes ENC 1101 - English Composition at EFSC in leu of their High School level English 3 course, they will earn 1 credit in English for their High School Graduation Requirements AND earn 3 credits for the ENC 1101 requirement needed at both the Associate's and Bachelor's level college degrees. Classes taken and textbooks needed at EFSC are paid for by the District.
