Astronaut Club
Welcome to Astronaut Club!
Astronaut Club: This club promotes creativity, teamwork, the understanding and application of STEM subjects, and the sharing of ideas. Some club members will meet once a week to design, build and launch rockets using scientific and engineering processes. Other club members will meet twice a week to prepare for the Florida Student Astronaut Challenge which is an open, nonprofit event that is dedicated to providing schools with the ability to foster interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
To prepare for competition, the students will study for and compete in mock simulations of space shuttles missions, International Space Station Experiments, and moon Orbiter missions. The students will assume key roles of personnel needed to fulfill and carry out space missions and problem solve scenarios when “errors” or emergencies occur.
