Congratulations are in order for 8th grader Sean Arce and his Law Studies teacher Mrs. Hilliard! Sean was a winner of the Brevard County Bar Association's Annual Law Day contests! As the winner he will be attending the Law Day Dinner & Award Ceremony at the Holiday Inn Conference Center in Viera and receiving a $350 cash prize. This year's theme is "Voices of Democracy", and he won the Middle School Essay Contest. Sean's essay was titled "Florida's Controversial Bathroom Bill: A Reflection on Individual Rights and Social Progress.

Sean wrote, "contemplating the implications of such legislation has led me to reassess my own beliefs and biases. At a younger age, my father had raised me to be on the right side of the political party spectrum." Sean discusses the reason behind the law, how proponents against the law feel outraged and discriminated against, and the global conversation when it comes to gender identity.

Sean has 3.5 GPA, loves to play video games and is an offensive lineman on his football team. He is inspired by his mother and gather and loves his cat, Sunshine!

Sean is an exemplary representation of our school!

Go Broncos!
