Regular Courses: Content is designed for students who have a background at or above average achievement.
Honors/Pre-AP: Content is designed for students who have a background of excellent or outstanding growth and achievement as well as being capable of educational depth. These students are usually selfmotivated, and pursue creative college preparatory courses.
Advanced Placement: Courses are offered in the following disciplines: English Language/Literature, Calculus AB/BC, Statistics, Computer Science A, Computer Science Principles, U.S. History, World History, Government, Human Geography, Micro/Macro Economics, Latin, Psychology, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics 1, Physics 2 Studio Art 2D/3D, Music Theory, French and Spanish. The Brevard AP Diploma of Distinction is available for students meeting the district’s criteria. In 2017, West Shore had 65 students earn this diploma.
AP Capstone: Innovative program that allows students to engage in the rigorous development of skills critical for success in college (critical and creative thinking, argumentation, and research skills). The program includes a two course sequence: AP Seminar (11th grade) and AP Research (12th grade). Students who earn scores of 3 or higher on four AP Exams of their choosing and the 2 Capstone Exams, will receive the AP Capstone Diploma. The 1st Capstone graduating Class of 2016 had 34 AP Capstone Diploma recipients, Class of 2017 had 42 and Class of 2018 had 29. AP Capstone: A Student Perspective
Advanced Placement Scholar Awards: The AP Program offers several AP Scholar Awards to recognize high school students who have demonstrated college-level achievement through performance in AP courses and exams. In 2017, West Shore had 209 students earn an AP Scholar Award.
Dual Enrollment: Courses are offered in conjunction with Eastern Florida State College with 42 students enrolled part time and 15 students enrolled full-time (Early Admission).

World Language 3 credits (3 years in one language)

Career Decision Making .5 credit

Additional Graduation Requirements:
Document leadership experience in one or more areas or projects
Fulfill Service Learning Component (25 hours per year in attendance at the school)
Accelerate in three areas of curriculum (AP/Dual Enrollment)
Eligible for at least one post-secondary scholarship
Maintain a competitive post-secondary admissions portfolio to include career and personal goals
Successfully complete a senior project
Successfully complete one online High School credit bearing course
