Fridays aren’t just for football for these Commodores! Every home game Friday, football players from Eau Gallie High School volunteer at Dr. WJ Creel Elementary to read to a lucky classroom of students. At least one team member each week had attended Creel when in elementary. Our Creel Eagles certainly can find positive role models in these exemplary student athletes, who must qualify for this opportunity by maintaining good grades and behavior. ❤️⚓️📚🏈

Reaching new heights 🚀 and depths 🦈 in the name of Science! 🔬 Recently over fifty BPS Elementary STEM lab teachers, and Marine Science Educators gathered for an engaging Day of Discovery at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, in partnership with Discovery Education and the Guy Harvey Foundation! Learning focused on enhancing STEM and science instruction. Teachers explored creative techniques for designing classroom escape rooms to boost student engagement and problem-solving skills. 🧩🧠 Additionally, the day highlighted important issues in ocean conservation, with special attention given to the study of sharks, providing educators with valuable resources to inspire curiosity and environmental awareness in their students. 🌊 We are so grateful for the community support, through adoption of millage, which has allowed our dream of bringing a STEM teacher to every school a reality.

It was a fated night recently at Sherwood Elementary School as our excited Kindergartners experienced their Sorting Ceremony ✨ Using the amazing house system inspired by the Ron Clark Academy, our little ones were introduced to their new school families: 🏰 Reveur (the Dreamers in royal blue) 🤝 Amistad (the Friendship house in red) 🦁 Isibindi (the Courage house in green) 🎁 Altruismo (the Givers in black) Each house comes with its own unique symbols, traits, and cheers that our kiddos now get to learn and experience! 🎶 The sorting was a blast—each child picked a colorful plastic egg to discover a house wristband. Once sorted, throughout their whole career at Sherwood, they will earn house points for academics, exhibiting positive traits, and joining in on fun challenges! This house system is more than just fun and games; it’s fostering a fantastic sense of family and community among our students, staff, and parents. 🥳💙❤️💚🖤

May we have the absolute pleasure of introducing you to... the Longleaf Elementary Kindness Rock Garden ☮️💖🪨 Over the past several weeks, our wonderful Longleaf instructors have been developing several programs to instill the importance of the theme: Kindness is Key to our Bobcats. This positive initiative coordinates with October's Bullying Prevention campaign: Shine Bright ✨, Speak Out 🗣️ At the same time. our generous community partners, Elite Pavers, were donating their services to restore the school's landscaping, replacing it with new rock. And.... the Kindness Rock Garden was born! Children were allowed to choose a rock to paint with messages of love, assurance, peace, and encouragement. We even had some celebrity rock designers including teachers, Principal Sherburne, Dr. Rendell, and even Buddy the Bobcat! 😺

University of Central Florida Knights wide-receiver Jarrad Baker doesn't just shine on the football field, he is also bringing his bright light back to BPS. Jarrad attended Dr. WJ Creel Elementary as a child and is already giving back to his elementary school and community. He recently purchased several new pairs of shoes and gifted them himself (along with the help of his beautiful daughter) to some excited students. We are so proud to recognize Jarrad as an outstanding alumnus of BPS. Thank you for your generosity!!

The little Eagles of Freedom 7 Elementary School recently had a blast exploring the Brevard Adult and Community Education facility at Clearlake, in Cocoa. The hands-on experience, which is a part of their How the World Works learning module, included touring the construction facility, learning about safety, watching tool demonstrations, and reading books! Afterwards, the students got to work, trying their new skills on beginner building kits generously provided by Merritt Island Home Depot. What a fun collaborative day!

"Every Day Counts" when it comes to the education of children. When kids come to school regularly, they learn that their education is a priority and become more connected to their instructors and classmates. Overall, they are simply more likely to succeed. Please remember that absences add up, and partner with us in prioritizing your child's attendance. 🌟📚❤️ #EveryDayCounts For more information on District absence policy, see the student conduct manual pages 51-55: https://tinyurl.com/22eyaf9y

On September 6, the young men of Palm Bay Magnet HS participated in a long-standing Junior Achievement SpaceCoast event - Tied Together 👔 This initiative was started in May 2014 as a small volunteer effort at Cambridge Elementary School by a local realtor, Glen Outlaw. This program has grown and expanded throughout several schools within the district, with events held throughout the year. Over the years, the Tied Together program has taught thousands of young men within BPS life skills such as tying a tie and shaking hands. Participants have also learned soft skills like how to “stand tall as an individual.” Thank you to our amazing volunteers and Pirate participants. 🤝

Piece by piece these kids are designing a more beautiful world! 🌎🧩 Have you noticed these gorgeous new mosaic artworks at Westside Elementary School? They came from the very hands and minds of our "Modern Artists Club"! These creative installations are the first of a series of murals that will be designed this year to beautify the entrance of Westside. These featured designs were inspired by two of the most beautiful and mysterious regions: the ocean and outer space. 🐙👨‍🚀🌊🚀
