Important Dates

Dear Holland Families,

It is with great pleasure that we welcome everyone back for a new school year at Holland Elementary School!

Class placement and back-to-school letters were sent via US mail on July 31st, along with Mrs. Alison’s back-to-school letter outlining important dates and information for the start of the school year.  An invitation to our annual Meet Your Teacher event on Thursday, August 8th from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm, was included.  At this time, teachers will be available for parents and students to stop by their classrooms, meet their teacher, and drop off school supplies.  Our wonderful PTO will once again host the Holland Family Social which will also take place that day in our school cafeteria.  Once you have visited your child’s classroom, everyone is invited to join us as we have a brief time of fellowship with friends and families.  Pizza will be served, and the Cruisen Vana Ice Cream Truck will be here offering cold treats as well.  If you ordered supplies from 1st Day School Supplies, kits will be available on this day as well

Monday, August 12th is the first day of school for students in first through sixth grades.  Thursday, August 15th is the first day for students in kindergarten.  On that first day, classroom doors will open at 7:30 am and students should report directly to their homeroom classes unless they would like to take part in our free breakfast program.  After the first day, teachers will open their doors at 7:45 each morning.  Please remember that there is no supervision available on campus prior to 7:30 am, so for safety reasons, no students should arrive prior to that time.  Early-release days will continue to take place on Fridays at 1:15 pm, with the first early-release day on Friday, August 16th.

Please mark your calendar for our annual Open House, which will take place on ThursdayAugust 22nd from 5:00-7:00 pm.  This is an opportunity for you to attend an informational presentation from your child’s teacher regarding the year’s instructional program, classroom procedures, and academic expectations, in addition to ways you can support your child at home.

We look forward to seeing you all soon!
