Dear Kennedy Parents/Guardians:
We are excited to welcome you back on campus for registration day! Registration day for Kennedy Middle School will be Thursday, August 1st. We will hold a morning and afternoon session. Our morning session will run from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm and our afternoon/evening session will be from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. We are hopeful these times will work for our students and their families. Attend anytime during these sessions.
To save as much time as possible on registration day:
All returning BPS students are required to complete their back-to-school paperwork through the FOCUS portal this year. This process is much quicker than the old paper packets. Please log into your FOCUS parent portal and complete the online re-enrollment paperwork immediately.
**Special Attention 7th Graders** You must upload your updated shot records to include the TDAP immunization, to the FOCUS Re-enrollment packet. You will not be able to attend school or get a schedule until we have your updated shot records. **
Please call us at 321-633-3500 and speak to Megan Parise, if you have any issues.
If I have completed the re-enrollment paperwork in FOCUS, what will registration day look like for my family?
You will be FAST passed right to fees (activity and planners). Please bring $5.00 cash to pay for the planner and the activity fee. (The planner will not be given out on registration day but on the 1st day of school).
After paying the $5.00 activity and planner fee, your child will be given their schedule. At this time, our new KMS students will have the opportunity to walk our campus to become familiar with their schedule. All students will also have access to: Panther swag (bring extra cash), Transportation, athletics, clubs/programs, PTO, and KMS Website/Social Media table. We will not be selling physical education uniforms during registration. We will be having an ONLINE one-day-only sale for yearbooks during registration. Be sure to get yours before the sale ends! The yearbook will be available for $30.00, but only through this online sale.
What if I’m new to KMS or if I’m having difficulties with FOCUS?
Those students and families new to KMS or who did not fill out the re-enrollment paperwork will have the opportunity to complete it in the media center if needed. Please make sure you bring proof of residency if you are new to us.
What if I'm not able to make registration on August 1st?
If you are unable to make registration day, the front office will be open the week of August 5th to assist with the registration process.
What does transportation look like for students at KMS?
Students in Kennedy Middle School’s attendance area are eligible for district transportation if they live more than 2 miles from the school. Students attending Kennedy on an Education Location Option (ELO) are not eligible for bus transportation.
All rising 7th graders need to complete the link below to sign up for bus transportation. Please complete this link as soon as possible to ensure that your student has a bus pass prior to the first day of school. Completing this earlier will also save you time on Registration Day.
