We are thrilled to offer 13 AP Courses in History, Government, Chemistry, Calculus, Statistics, English Language, English Literature, Computer Science, Precalculus, and Music Theory.

AP Exams:

Exams are given in May (free of charge) to students enrolled in an AP course during the school year. Students must earn a 3 or better on a scale from 1-5 to earn possible college credit. Each college and university varies with how much course credit is offered based on the test score. It is advised to check your potential colleges' websites to see which scores are required. Scores are released on July 5 in their College Board accounts.

**Students who have taken a minimum of 6 full-year AP Courses (6 credits) or a combination of full-year courses and semester courses totaling six credits chosen from three different subject areas of the five subject areas listed (Languages/Literature, Social Science, Math, Science, and/or Humanities) will earn the Brevard Public Schools AP Diploma.

Awards granted by College Board:

  • AP Scholar--must score three or higher on three or more AP exams

  • AP Scholar with Honors--must score at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken AND score 3 or higher on four or more of these exams

  • AP Scholar with Distinction--must score at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken AND score 3 or higher on five or more of these exams

  • State AP Scholar--granted to one male and one female student in each US State and DC with scores of 3 or higher on the greatest number of AP Exams, AND THEN the highest average score (at least 3.5) on all AP Exams taken

  • National AP Scholar--granted to students in the US who receive an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken, AND scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams
