Satellite High School is proud to announce the winners of its Employee of the Year and Teacher of the Year awards for the 2024-2025 school year. These awards celebrate exceptional dedication, leadership, and the impact these individuals have on our students, staff, and community as noticed by their peers and colleagues.
Teacher of the Year: Ms. Heather Pierce
Ms. Heather Pierce, who joined Satellite High School in January 2021, has been recognized as our 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year. Ms. Pierce is a Social Studies teacher known for her passion for history and her dedication to student success. She currently teaches AP Human Geography, AP World History: Modern, and US History Honors. In her very first year at Satellite High, Ms. Pierce was honored as the 2022 High School Social Studies Teacher of the Year for Brevard County, a remarkable achievement that reflects her commitment to excellence in education.
Her innovative teaching methods and ability to connect with students have made a lasting impact in the classroom. "Ms. Pierce's enthusiasm for history and learning is truly contagious. She challenges her students to think critically and prepares them for success, both academically and beyond," said Principal Courtney Lundy. We are thrilled to recognize her outstanding contributions to Satellite High School.
Employee of the Year: Ms. Sandy Voshall
Ms. Sandy Voshall, who has been a vital part of Satellite High School since November 2015, has been named the 2024-2025 Employee of the Year. In 2018, Ms. Voshall was promoted to her current position as Master Certified Head Custodian, a role in which she consistently goes above and beyond. Known for her hard work, excellent communication, and leadership, Ms. Voshall ensures that our school remains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all.
Her leadership extends beyond her role, as she frequently celebrates the successes of her team and publicly acknowledges their efforts. "Ms. Voshall's positive attitude and commitment to excellence inspire everyone around her. She is not only dedicated to her work but to the people she works with, making Satellite High a better place for students, faculty, and staff alike," said Principal Lundy.
Satellite High School is fortunate to have both Ms. Pierce and Ms. Voshall as integral members of our community. Their dedication and excellence continue to set a high standard for all of us.
