Announcements:

Guidance Update 3/14/25:

Our Student Services Counselor team would like to thank our community for their support during the course selection process! We have mostly completed our Viera High classes and gotten out to area middle schools. Any 8th grade parents and students up and coming to the high school, please continue to reach out to your current middle School Counselor with any questions you may have as we here at Viera High will be working on graduation and our current student population. We know you are excited, as we are too, and we look forward to our incoming freshmen class!

Following spring break into the month of April, we will open up our QR codes for current students and parents until we near graduation in May. We appreciate continued support and patience with our schedules as we will be busy at the end of our school year with our seniors. Thank you for your support!

PLEASE NOTE **ANY Viera High student who has not turned in their course selection forms, please get them turned into Student Services ASAP as we will be entering courses and electives soon!

**Any Academy/Business student who needs this specific course selection form may stop into Student Services.

  1. Senior Class 2025: We have noticed MANY of you have not applied for the FFAA financial aid application for your Bright Futures scholarship. Many of you qualify, however without completing the FFAA, you will not be notified of any award. Please make sure this financial aid package is completed on the Bright Futures webpage ASAP. It is due by August 31st of your graduation year (this school year for our graduating seniors). Any questions, feel free to ask your School Counselor.

  2. Seniors also, Please turn in your volunteer and/or paid hours as soon as you have them done! We would like you to have the majority of your hours completed to us by the end of March 31st before Bright Futures does their next updates. Also, fill out your FAFSA federal aid application as this must be completed by June 30th!

Seniors:

To Do for Applying to Colleges:

  1. Transcript Request Forms are required for EVERY transcript we send or upload to Common App. Look to the right to download them or come into the Guidance lobby.

  2. Common App: Add your counselor as a recommender using our email (@brevardschools.org) so we can submit the School Report and your Transcript.

  3. Request an unofficial transcript to complete the Common App and SSAR.

  4. LET US KNOW if you have been accepted! We LOVE to hear about your success so when you get accepted to the college or university of your choice, we want to know! Come and share with us.

Volunteering Opportunity:

Any students who may need some volunteer hours, I could use some help on those days setting up, running the competition, and breaking down. It would be from 9:30-1:30 (all or even part of that time) on the following days:

February 27

March 05

March 06

March 10

March 12

March 27

We'll be setting up on the south side bleachers of the stadium, near the ESF parking lot. I'd greatly appreciate you putting the word out and possibly drumming up some interest... I realize it is during the school day and students may not be able to participate, but just in case you had any students in mind who may be TA's or something.

Thanks again,

David Schleith, Ed.D
