Media

Welcome to the Library Media Center!

OUR LIBRARY:

The library media program serves to instill a love of reading, inspire life-long learning, and foster independent library use. Students visit once a week for 40 minutes with their class to check out materials and to practice information literacy skills and digital citizenship. The library is an inviting space where students may acquire knowledge and gain insight; a welcoming haven where children may seek respite from a demanding day; a stimulating place where they may open books and open their minds for a better tomorrow.

OUR CLUBS AND PROGRAMS:

The Media Center has 2 clubs available for students to join!

1. Morning News Crew- This is a club for 6th grade students who are interested in being on our school morning news program.  Mrs. Romano will present this club to all 6th grade students during Media at the beginning of the school year.

2: SLAM Book Club: This is an optional book club open to students in 3-6 grade.  Students are challenged to read the 15 Sunshine State Young Reader Award (SSYRA) books!  These books are nominated for the SSYRA by The Florida Association of Media in Education.  Students who read the most books will have the opportunity to attend SLAM!  SLAM is a fun filled day where we test our knowledge of the SSYRA books through trivia and engaging activities.  Please encourage your child to read the SSYRA books and join me as we participate in this fun event!
