Hello Class of 2021 Seniors and Parents,
Friday, January 29th, our guidance department held the first of three Bright Futures help sessions which Mr. Drake’s email to all Seniors and their Parents. Directions for students to use in going online and establishing their Bright Futures application can be found at https://www.brevardschools.org/Page/17897 . The process is very straightforward and simple. Counselors will be available for in-person help on the following days/times in room 3-102:
Friday, January 29th (2:30pm – 3:15pm)
Wednesday, February 3rd (8:00am – 8:30am)
Thursday, February 4th (11:48am – 1:54pm during 3rd period and all 3 lunches)
Important points to remember:
Eligibility for any level of Bright Futures scholarship starts with a completed application.
Students should have a minimum of 100 documented service hours prior to graduation.
Test score requirements are:
Florida Medallion Scholar (75%) – 1210 SAT or 25 ACT
Florida Academic Scholar (100%) – 1330 SAT or 29 ACT
Accurate information is crucial (misspelled names or incorrect birth dates are examples of things that can hold up eligibility).
Please make sure to complete the application sooner rather than later and don’t hesitate in contacting your counselor should you have any questions. Contact information for the Bright Futures program is included with the directions.
Best Regards,
West Shore Guidance Department
