Principal Message

Stevenson Families,

Happy Friday! As we wrap up another wonderful week at our school, I wanted to take a moment to share some highlights and upcoming events with you.

First and foremost, I am thrilled to announce that Mrs. Sonberg has been named Teacher of the Year! Her dedication and passion for art instruction have truly made a difference in our students’ lives. Additionally, Mrs. Barbara Ward has been honored as Employee of the Year for her outstanding service to our students. Her positive impact on our school community goes beyond the cafeteria. Please join me in congratulating both of these exceptional individuals.

At the beginning of the week we celebrated our Read-a-Thon participants. The top six students enjoyed lunch with me, and three of them even got to throw a pie in my face. It was a fun time and I know everyone will enjoy viewing the pictures! The student with the most minutes read and the student with the most funds collected also received a Kindle to support their reading journey. Congratulations to these students and thank you to our families for your support of literacy and this fundraiser.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to our sixth-grade families for providing a delicious luncheon last week. Everyone enjoyed the BBQ, sides, and desserts. Our families truly spoil us, and we are so grateful for your generosity!

We are excited to kick off Stevenson’s 4th Annual Fall Fishing Tournament fundraiser sponsored by East Coast Christian Center, which will run through November 11th. This is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy some outdoor time with your family while supporting our school. Grab the fishing poles and head to your favorite fishing spot! (Information and Registration)

Looking ahead, please mark your calendars for the following events:

Friday, October 4th at 9:10 am: Our monthly Volunteer Meeting will be held in the cafeteria. We encourage all volunteers to attend and get involved.

Friday, October 4th: This day is also a paid Out of Uniform Day with a fantasy theme for students. Please remember that if your child is participating, their clothing must meet the BPS dress code.

Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. Have a wonderful weekend

Sincerely,

Mrs. Fleeger
