Student Led Transition Program
BPS is committed to ensuring a peer-led, safe, and positive transition for students from military families into our schools. For support, please contact the Military Point of Contact listed at the top of this webpage.
Our school is committed to providing a supportive and welcoming environment for military-connected students. To facilitate a smooth transition, we have established a student-led Military Transition Program.
Transition Team Coordinator: The Transition Team Coordinator, a dedicated school staff member, oversees the program and works closely with military families.
Peer-Support System: At the heart of our program is a peer-support system comprised of the Principal's Student Executive Council members. These student leaders serve as the Military Student Transition Team. They provide personalized support, guidance, and mentorship to new military students.
Familiarization Process: When new military students join our school, they are paired with a Military Student Transition Team member who serves as their "buddy." The buddy provides tours of the campus, introduces the student to key staff and faculty, and helps them navigate the school's resources and activities.
By involving our student leaders in the transition process, we create a sense of belonging and community for new military students, ensuring that they feel welcomed, supported, and successful in their academic journey.
