Milton Update # 3 | 10/8/2024 | Posted at 12:05 PM Due to the latest projected track of Hurricane Milton, and a slowdown of the storm's arrival in Brevard County, all BPS schools/offices will remain closed on Friday, 10/11. As a reminder, BPS schools/offices are still scheduled to be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, 10/09 and Thursday, 10/10. Today, Tuesday 10/08 is still an early release day (Friday schedule). Monday, 10/14, will remain a Teacher Workday/Student Holiday. Students are expected to return to school on Tuesday, 10/15. We strongly encourage everyone to continue to follow the recommendations from Brevard County Emergency Management (Brevard EOC). Brevard Public Schools will continue to work collaboratively with the EOC on any changes or updates.

Fall Mid-Term Exam Schedule Updated to next Tuesday, 10/15th and Wednesday, 10/16th.

UPDATE: Due to the intensification of Hurricane Milton, Brevard Public Schools will be observing an early release schedule tomorrow, Tuesday, 10/08. We will follow our Friday Early Release Schedule with dismissal at 2:15 PM. All after school activities will be canceled for Tuesday, 10/08. This decision was made to allow time for our families and staff to finalize preparations.

Attention ALL 10th Graders: The PSAT originally scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 9th has been rescheduled for next Thursday, Oct. 17th. In addition to the free practice tools available at http://sat.collegeboard.org/practice, all students have access to a) free, full-length practice tests in Bluebook and b) free, focused practice resources through College Board’s collaboration with Khan Academy. Practice materials are available at the Khan Academy website.

Congratulations to the boys for winning the 2024 Cape Coast Conference Championship. Congratulations to the girls for placing 3rd at the 2024 Cape Coast Conference Championship. Milton Update #1 | 10/6/2024 @ 6 PM Due to Hurricane Milton, all Brevard Public Schools and offices will be closed Wednesday, 10/09, and Thursday, 10/10. At this time, all schools are expected to be open tomorrow, Monday, 10/07, and Tuesday, 10/08. Schools are also expected to be open on Friday, 10/11. As the storm moves closer, a more detailed forecast will be made available. We will update families if anything changes. The district will continue to work collaboratively with Brevard County Emergency Operations and other local agencies to monitor the storm’s progress and determine the best course of action for the safety of our students, staff, and families.

The THS Boys Swim Team claimed 1st place at the CCC Championships with a score of 409.5! Highlights include all three relays taking 1st place, and the 200 free relay setting a new school and conference record. Brayden dominated the 50 and 100 free, while Hayden won the 100 back and was seeded first in both events. Hayden also placed 2nd in the 100 fly, setting a new school record in the process. This marks the 4th consecutive week of record-breaking swims by the 2024/25 boys team. The Girls team finished strong, securing 3rd place with a score of 235! Go Terriers!!!

Attention Families: Florida Heiken will be providing free eye exams or vouchers to all families that apply on any internet enabled device through www.floridaheiken.org.  Eligible families may qualify for free glasses.  This service is for students in grades Pre-K through 12.  Exams will be scheduled during the month of November.    Once applications are received a list of school-based sites will be determined to host the mobile eyecare unit.  Sites with the highest participation/need will be priority sites.  Each school will receive a list of students whose parents have consented to the service. Applications are due by October 11, 2024.
