Club Spotlight: First Priority
By Trinity Krieselman
Melbourne High School's First Priority club is bringing students together to connect through faith and fellowship. This Christian organization meets on Thursday mornings before school and offers students a chance to start their day with positivity, prayer, and community. This group provides a welcoming environment for anyone looking to strengthen their faith or simply share uplifting moments with peers. One student, Ariel Scott, recently joined the group, she shared how her experience has positively impacted her day. "Going to the group in the morning definitely changed my day for the better. It made my morning more fulfilling,” Scott said.
While her mother plays a key role in supporting her faith. She wanted to take an active role in her own spiritual journey, attending first priority was her way of doing that. The meetings include a big group of discussions, games and devotional activities, which have become a highlight for many students. "My favorite part was probably the game that they do and getting together in a group," she said. The activities provide a balance of fun and reflection, creating a relaxed yet meaningful way to engage with faith and build friendships.
Scott enjoys getting up on Thursday mornings, knowing that she has somewhere she will always be welcome for morning divisions. For students like her first priority offers more than just a morning routine, it sets a positive tone for the rest of the day. Many participants leave the morning meeting, feeling happier and more motivated, which translates into better focus and energy throughout the school day. With its growing presence at Melbourne High School, the group is a testament to community and faith can make a meaningful difference in students' lives.
