Club Spotlight: Yearbook Receives New Vests
By Regan Faherty
On Friday night, the lights were not the only thing illuminating on the field; the yearbook staffâs new vests also lit up the night. Yearbook members, Isabelle Hiese and Autumn Long, experienced wearing the vests on the field. This year the staff was given an easy way to be spotted by both administration as well as the football players; the vests helped prevent collisions from happening. Though staff member, Long, did not agree, âPeople were still in my way and I still had to try and move in front of them or like change where I was standing,â said Long. The bright yellow allowed for the staff to stand out.
The vests were shared by all members of the yearbook staff, so âThe vest is very big and I feel like it doesn't really fit me right, but at the same time it is not a huge deal,â said Hiese. Both staff felt as though the vests were a bit bulky though manageable. These vests made getting on the field easier for yearbook staff: âNow I have not been asked why I am on the field or to get off the field,â said Hiese.
Most recently, the staff wore the vests at Powderpuff, the battle between the junior and senior girls in flag football. The staff could easily be spotted from across the field. The staff felt like there was not a large difference from before the vests because âThey were only helpful when the players noticed us,â said Hiese.
