Club Spotlight: Volleyball Club Potluck

The volleyball club offers students a chance to play a fun sport and develop your skills without worrying about the competitive side of it. The club provides a very welcoming and fun community as they meet every Wednesday after school. Junior, Maria Ziade, takes the position as the volleyball club president. “I didn’t start the club but I went the years before and was asked to be president by Mrs. Imbs,” said Ziade. The volleyball club holds potlucks every year as a way to simply celebrate the club and the people who bring it together.

The volleyball club held their yearly potluck in  Mrs. Imbs room. The club members had the opportunity to bring in a dish to be shared among everyone. “Me and my brother brought Capri Suns for everyone,” said sophomore, Trinity Lombardi. “My favorite dish was probably the sandwiches that had mayo and ham, they were really good,” said Lombardi. “I didn’t bring a dish but my favorites were the cookies and the strawberries,” said sophomore, Sophie Yang, “the teacher played music and after she left, we played volleyball outside,” said Yang.

Everyone apart of the club had the chance to bring in anything they’d like to share as they met in Mrs. Imbs room.  “It was a Thanksgiving get-together for the volleyball club,” said Ziade. The function was a wonderful way for the club to relax and connect over an afternoon of delicious treats. “I brought custard slices, my favorite dish was the tres leches or my own,” said Ziade.

After everyone enjoyed the potluck, the club continued their afternoon with some more fun. “After we ate, everyone went outside to play volleyball together,” said junior, Brynn Butts. It can be agreed that the volleyball club spent their time well with laughter and quality time. “My favorite dish was the tres leches,” said Butts.
