Club Spotlight: Piano Club By Kayleen Velazquez
The piano club provides a space for musicians of all skill levels to explore their love of music, learn new techniques, and collaborate with fellow students. The club offers a supportive environment where students can express themselves through the art of piano playing. The piano club meet every other friday with Mr. Lulla and Mrs. Eggen. The sponsors offer assistance to the club members so they can improve, and they teach them the skills necessary.
Landon Allen is a sophomore in piano club who has only started to play for about a month. “I can definitely see myself playing piano and many other instruments out of highschool for sure,” said Allen. The club has allowed him to learn a new instrument and even foresee a future with music. “Piano club has very much helped me improve, both of the teachers hosting it are amazing at teaching,” said Allen. Through a great environment and even greater teachers, Allen has found love for a new instrument while being eager to learn more.
The piano club ensures a great space for beginners to learn. “I’ve been playing piano for around three months now. With the help of Mr. Lulla, he’s really sat down with me one on one and he takes the time out of his day to just hear me play overall and see if there's anything I can improve on,” said sophomore Kaylee Webb. She feels that piano is very therapeutic and helps her feel at ease, and the club allows her to create that relaxing sensation for herself.
With the piano club, everyone has their own genre preferences that they enjoy. “I like simple pieces of music to help with coordination as well as finding a comfortable place to start,” said junior Carson Ringleb. The club gives its members their own freedom in playing what they feel is just right for them to learn more. Everyone has the ability to improve at a certain pace that isn’t too overwhelming. “I never played piano before the club, but Mr. Lulla and Mrs. Eggen have helped me learn in such a short period of time,” said Ringleb.
