Prom Preparations Underway by Isabelle Hesie

While prom might feel like it is a while away for most, the junior class is wasting no time preparing. On January 27th, the four junior class officers, Ansleigh Friday, Dallas Olmstead, Myles Alonzi, and Renna Petrides, and the class sponsor, Mrs. Carrie Friday, took a trip to the prom venue to plan out how they are going to use the space. All four students found use in the trip. It helped them to find excitement going forward with prom planning.

With the change in venue for prom this year, it was important to see what the space looked like in person. “The visit to the venue definitely did help because it made it a lot easier to see how our decorations could be used in the space and figuring out the layout of everything.” said Friday. The council has hopes to talk with their decorator about how to decorate the space. Their visit was beneficial in preparing a vision for the decorator. Overall, Junior class is now more prepared for prom.

In addition to being more prepared, the junior class is also more excited for prom. The groups hopes for a successful prom were only raised after their visit to the venue. “I am absolutely so excited that I’m able to help plan prom this year. Our junior council is dedicated and works well together” said Olmstead. While not everyone in the junior class council were able to visit the venue, all of the members were happy that their officers could attend and set the council up for success. The excitement for prom has only grown.

Many meetings are in store for the junior class as they prepare. Planning everything out for prom has involved some challenges and the council is bound to face more. However, the group has been determined to keep up all their hard work. The junior class has hopes to create an unforgettable night for all students in attendance
