White background wiht a picture of Ms. Feronti Williams and Myah Young holding a certificate. The words: Congratulations to MYAH FOR WINNING OUR 9/11 POETRY CONTEST "THE DAY HOPE FELL" THE MORNING ROSE, CALM, CLEAR, BUT ENDED IN SMOKE, IN ASH, AND FEAR. ONE MOMENT, LAUGHTER FILLED THE AIR, THE NEXT - JUST SILENCE, EVERYWHERE. WE WAITED FOR YOU, WE CALLED YOUR NAME, BUT ONLY ECHOES, NEVER CAME YOUR CHAIR SITS EMPTY, YOUR COAT STILL HUNG, YOUR FAVORITE SONG REMAINS UNSUNG. THE WORLD KEPT TURNING, BUT OUR STOOD STILL, A WOUND THAT TIME COULD NEVER FILL. THE SKYLINE CHANGED, OUR HEARTS DID TOO, WE LOST, A PART OF US WITH YOU. THE CANDLES BURNED, THE PRAYERS WERE SAID, FOR ALL THE LIVES, FOR ALL THE DEAD. BUT HOPE FEELS DISTANT, OUT OF REACH, LIKE WAVES RETREATING FROM THE BEACH, ALL THAT REMAINS OUR NAMES AND TEARS, AND MEMORIES THAT HAUNT THE YEARS. A SKY WENT BLUE, NOW GRAY WITH LOSS - THE DAY HOPE FELL, BENEATH THE CROSS.

We’re halfway through “Show Up September” and your commitment to showing up is making a difference! Keep building those strong habits: every day in class is a step toward success. Stay consistent. Stay motivated. Stay all in for attendance. Here is an attendance fact… Chronic absence — missing 10 percent or more of school days due to absence for any reason—excused, unexcused absences and suspensions, can translate into students that have difficulty learning to read by the third grade, achieving in middle school, and graduating from high school.

Congratulations to two amazing and deserving winners for our Teacher and Employee of the Year! Ms. Campbell leads with class and a supporting hand. She is constantly connecting with her students, parents and those around her. You will often see Ms. Campbell at all the sporting events cheering on our kids and showing true Gopher pride. She is a great example of a dedicated teacher and has her students trained that they were scared to clap and make too much noise because they know Ms. Campbell needs focus to be successful! Coach Chris has made an impact in so many unique ways on campus. In my time here, he has been a team player, subbing and supporting students. If you ever need to find Coach Chris, you can find him mentoring students. He has a special way to connect with all of those around him. The students truly look for Coach Chris for guidance. Many times, students tell me they need to talk to him because he gives the best advice. He holds his basketball team to high standards and looks for ways to build a culture of having Gopher Pride!! Way to go!

September 11, 2001, is etched in our collective memory — a day of loss, courage, confusion, and unity. Each year, we pause to remember not just the tragedy, but the extraordinary bravery, compassion, and resilience that followed.

Stone and Southwest Families,

We are writing to inform you of rumors that have spread of a potential threat to tonight’s Southwest vs. Stone basketball game. Out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to cancel tonight's game while police continue their investigation.

The well-being of our students is our highest priority. We take every rumor seriously and will continue to communicate transparently with our families.

Thank you for your understanding.
